Using stoneware clay formed over a mold, this piece is lighter than it appears. This heart sculpture features a smooth-textured pale-glazed flower at the upper right. Real lace is pressed into the clay to leave its intricate texture over the middle section of the heart. Dark matte glaze is rubbed into the lace texture, with green glazes applied to the open spaces in and around the lace on the piece. Finishing the heart’s lower section is an earthy yellow glaze that beautifully contrasts the textures presented on this hollow heart form sculpture. It is wired and ready to hang indoors or outdoors.
