This sculpture is meticulously handcrafted from agave plant fibers, with every strand applied by hand. This inventive presentation of the iconic black and white zebra is brought to life with carefully airbrushed, colorful stripes outlined in black. The long ears, mohawk-style mane, and sculpted nose and eyes are accurate to the confirmation of a real zebra.

Anne Andersson’s artwork provides a humane alternative to trophy hunting and taxidermy. Her one-of-a-kind sculptures of exotic species do not contribute to their suffering. These sculptures are intricately handcrafted from the fibers of the Agave sisalana plant, which the Aztecs and the Mayans used to make fabrics and paper. Inspired by the majesty and beauty of exotic wildlife, and motivated by an urge to preserve them, Anne’s astonishingly realistic life-size sculptures capture the experience of seeing these animals up close without exploiting them. Born in Sweden, Anne has a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Kjällbergska University in Gothenburg and a degree in Art from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
