This is a large hand thrown clay pot decorated in a painterly hand-painted glaze technique. Its surface is adorned with delicately rendered persimmons, leafy branches, bees, a sparrow, and a charming squirrel. Patches of a honeycomb pattern add subtle background texture with soft pastel colors on the rim. The base of the pot and each leaf are detailed with 14K gold glaze. The interior is glazed in bright, glossy yellow. This piece took over 60 hours of glazing and three kiln firings to complete.
