"The Pirate Queen" Gasparilla Corner Person
"The Pirate Queen" Gasparilla Corner Person
Get ready to surrender the booty! Commemorate Tampa’s legendary Gasparilla Pirate Fest with this one-of-a-kind "Corner Person" created by renowned folk artist Su Griggs.
This handcrafted pirate brings a fierce feminine touch to the invasion. Sculpted with Su’s signature expressive style, "The Pirate Queen" features long dark hair, a red bandana, and a daring black eye patch. A vibrant green parrot is perched confidently atop her head.
Standing on her signature tall, black-and-white striped bamboo legs, she is dressed to kill in a teal vest with white textured shoulders and red breeches. Her accessories are plentiful: she wears a gold beaded crossbody sash, a blue beaded necklace, and a belt featuring a large white cameo-style buckle with a pirate's horn hanging at her hip. Her arms are crafted from black chenille stems ending in spiraled natural twine hands.
