"The Red-Hatted Corsair" Gasparilla Corner Person
Get ready to surrender the booty! Commemorate Tampa’s legendary Gasparilla Pirate Fest with this one-of-a-kind "Corner Person" created by renowned folk artist Su Griggs.
This handcrafted pirate adds a touch of feminine swashbuckling style to the crew. Sculpted with Su’s signature expressive style, "The Red-Hatted Corsair" features long brown hair and wears a sculpted red pirate hat adorned with a black "X" and a sweeping dark feather plume.
Standing on her signature tall, black-and-white striped bamboo legs, she is dressed for high-seas adventure in a black vest with white textured shoulders and a vibrant teal sash. Her outfit is finished with a rust-colored fringed skirt and long red tassels. She is accessorized with a gold bead bandolier draped across her chest and a silver curved dagger tucked into her wide belt. Her arms are crafted from black chenille stems ending in spiraled natural twine hands.
