Details

This sculpture is a testament to exceptional craftsmanship, resulting in a strikingly realistic presence. Crafted from handmade sisal, derived from agave plant fibers, blending eco-friendly materials with expert artistry, every detail is beautifully handcrafted. The tiger’s piercing honey-colored eyes, the clay-sculpted nose, the ears, and coat are sculpted and then airbrushed with masterful skill.

Anne Andersson’s artwork provides a humane alternative to trophy hunting and taxidermy. Her one-of-a-kind sculptures of exotic species do not contribute to their suffering. These sculptures are intricately handcrafted from the fibers of the Agave sisalana plant, which the Aztecs and the Mayans used to make fabrics and paper. Inspired by the majesty and beauty of exotic wildlife, and motivated by an urge to preserve them, Anne’s astonishingly realistic life-size sculptures capture the experience of seeing these animals up close without exploiting them. Born in Sweden, Anne has a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Kjällbergska University in Gothenburg and a degree in Art from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
